# Members and permissions

> Invite organization members, assign roles, and control their access to projects.

Aptranet evaluates organization roles and project permissions before routing a request to the owning service.

## Organization roles

| Role | Intended responsibility |
| - | - |
| Admin | Organization membership, projects, and administrative settings |
| Member | Product access granted through project permissions |
| Billing manager | Billing profile, payment methods, invoices, and subscription |
| Member and billing manager | Product access plus billing responsibility |

## Invite a member

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open organization settings">
    Select the target organization, then open its member management page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create the invitation">
    Enter the member's email address and choose the least-privileged organization role that fits their work.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign project access">
    Open the project's member permissions and grant only the Cloud CDN, Cloud DNS, developer, or quota actions required.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Invitations expire and can be revoked while pending. A member can belong to the organization without having access to every project.

## Permission categories

* **Project:** quota requests and API-key management.
* **Cloud CDN:** list, create, modify, and delete distributions or origin groups.
* **Cloud DNS:** list, create, modify, and delete zones or record sets.

<Warning>
  Review project permissions when a member changes teams. Removing an organization member and disabling their human session does not rotate automation credentials they previously accessed.
