# Cloud DNS overview

> Understand Aptranet authoritative zones, record sets, routing policies, health checks, and analytics.

Cloud DNS hosts authoritative DNS zones and answers queries through Aptranet nameservers. Standard record sets can be extended with traffic-selection policies and endpoint health.
