# Cloud CDN overview

> Understand Aptranet Cloud CDN resources, request flow, and delivery controls.

Cloud CDN delivers content through globally distributed edge infrastructure. You connect one or more origins, create a distribution, attach hostnames, and configure how edge nodes fetch, cache, protect, and transform responses.

## Request flow

```text theme={null}
Visitor → custom or Aptranet hostname → edge configuration
        ├── cache hit  → response from edge
        └── cache miss → origin group → primary or backup origin
```

## Resources

## Configuration areas

| Area | Controls |
| - | - |
| Cache | Edge and browser TTLs, query strings, stale content, slicing, POST cache, custom key |
| Network | Hostnames, compression, HTTP methods, WebSockets, gRPC, bandwidth limits |
| TLS | HTTPS, redirects, HTTP/3, protocol versions, SNI, origin certificate validation |
| Origin | Origin group, protocol, redirects, timeouts, rewrites, forced responses |
| Headers | CORS, Host header, static request/response headers, response visibility |
| Security | Country, IP, referrer, user-agent policies, and signed URLs |
| Images | WebP, AVIF, quality, and lossless PNG behavior |

<Note>
  Cloud CDN must be active for the organization. Every origin group and distribution belongs to the API key's project.
</Note>

## More delivery controls

* [Delivery rules](/cloud-cdn/rules) apply configuration to matching paths.
* [Origin Shield](/cloud-cdn/origin-shield) adds a cache layer in front of your origin.
* [Advanced options](/cloud-cdn/advanced) control specialized protocol and query behavior.
* [Request logs](/cloud-cdn/logs) help investigate individual responses.
* [Cloud Shield](/cloud-shield/overview) adds application protection to a distribution.
* [TLS Manager](/tls-manager/overview) provides certificate inventory and imports.
